PanARMENIAN.Net - The United States continues to believe that direct dialogue is key towards reaching a durable and dignified peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, according to Vedant Patel, the Principal Deputy Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State

“I’m certainly not going to confirm or offer any insight into the schedule or any potential dates beyond just saying that we, of course, as you heard me talk about earlier this week, we look forward to hosting another round of talks in Washington as the parties continue to pursue a peaceful future in the South Caucasus region,” Patel told a briefing on Wednesday, June 7.

“You’ve heard the Secretary and others speak to this. We continue to believe that direct dialogue is key towards reaching a durable and dignified peace.”

Patel said earlier that the United States is looking forward to hosting another round of talks in Washington later in June as the parties “continue to pursue a peaceful future for the South Caucasus region”.
