Poll: 71% of Azerbaijanis favor new aggression against Karabakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - An organization described as “Center for Social Research” in Azerbaijan has conducted a poll on the need to “launch a special operation in Karabakh.”

According to APA, 71.3% of respondents gave a positive response to the question “Do you think that Azerbaijan should conduct new military operations” against Karabakh?”

Only 24.1% of those who took part in the survey gave a negative response and said that they did not want new military operations.

The survey comes amid a grueling humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh. Since December 12, 2022, the sole road connecting Nagorno Karabakh to Armenia - the Lachin Corridor - has been blocked by Azerbaijan. Baku tightened the blockade on June 15, 2023, banning emergency relief supplies that were carried out by Russian peacekeepers and the International Committee of the Red Cross through the sole road connecting Karabakh to Armenia and the outside world. The move aggravated the shortages of food, medicine and other essential items experienced by the region’s population. On August 15, Karabakh Human Rights Defender’s office reported the first case of death from starvation.
