Armenia says doing its best to eliminate trade in sanctioned goods

PanARMENIAN.Net - Economy Minister Vahan Kerobyan has said that the government is doing everything to ensure that companies operating in Armenia do not fall under secondary sanctions.

“When we talk about Armenia being a gateway to the EAEU or the UAE as a global trade hub, it is naturally assumed that companies from these two countries will also carry out re-export intermediary activities,” Kerobyan told reporters before the start of the Armenia-UAE Business Forum on Monday, September 18.

“Everything is fine here, and I want to say that the Armenian government is doing everything to ensure that companies operating in the Republic of Armenia do not fall under secondary sanctions. With our tools, we are trying to eliminate trade in sanctioned goods, which could hit both companies and the economy,” Kerobyan said.

The Armenia-UAE business forum is currently underway in Yerevan on September 18. A number of memorandums of understanding have been signed on the sidelines of the forum.
