Azerbaijani President travels to Moscow![]() April 22, 2024 - 15:35 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. The meeting comes after the Kremlin confirmed that Russian peacekeepers have begun withdrawing from Azerbaijan's Karabakh and other regions, ending a multi-year deployment which gave Moscow a military foothold in the strategic South Caucasus region. According to the Kremlin's statement on Friday, Putin and Aliyev plan to discuss the Russian-Azerbaijani strategic partnership and regional issues, Reuters reports. ![]() ![]() Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive.
