Russia: Yerevan distancing itself from all formats of CSTO work![]() November 16, 2024 - 15:26 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Statements coming from Armenia indicate that Yerevan is distancing itself from all formats of the CSTO work, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin told reporters on Friday, November 15, when asked about the possibility of Armenia's participation in the CSTO summit on November 28. The diplomat was asked whether there was a chance for Armenia to participate in the upcoming CSTO events, including the leaders' meeting. "You should address the question to the Armenian side," Pankin responded. "But judging by the statements of the Armenian side, it is distancing itself at this stage from participating in absolutely all formats of CSTO activity at various levels." Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that "the CSTO creates threats to Armenia's security, its future existence and sovereignty." Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said at an international security forum in Warsaw that Yerevan is calculating all the risks regarding the decision to withdraw from the CSTO. ![]() ![]() The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington.
