EAEU Minister: Armenia's transport project important for the bloc![]() December 16, 2024 - 18:31 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian government’s Crossroads of Peace project has important significance for all Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) member states, Eurasian Economic Commission Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Arzybek Kozhoshev has said, according to Armenpress. Kozhoshev said Monday, December 16 that the project is important for all members of the union because it envisages the development of Armenia’s railway and road connectivity with neighboring countries. “At the same time, as a result of integration with the North-South international transport corridor, the Crossroads of Peace project could become an important link in the region in the process of developing the EEU reliable and sustainable transportation structure. The main purpose of the project is the increase of the capacity of the North-South transport corridor section that passes through Armenia’s territory, and strengthening of transport links with neighboring countries,” the EEC minister said. The Crossroads of Peace is a transport project proposed by the Armenian government, between Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran and Turkey to engage neighbours and international partners and thereby restore cooperation in the region. ![]() ![]() Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision.
