EU delegation visits Bagratashen, Ayrum border checkpoints![]() February 14, 2025 - 14:17 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The European Union's expert mission in Armenia met with representatives of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) to discuss the development of the Visa Liberalization Action Plan (VLAP). As part of this initiative, the EU delegation visited the Bagratashen and Ayrum border checkpoints to observe customs operations on-site. According to the plan, the delegation is also scheduled to visit Zvartnots International Airport. "The mission aims to assess Armenia’s overall preparedness in document security, border management, and migration policies, as well as contribute to the preparation of the visa liberalization action plan," the statement reads. The SRC presented key strategic directions in customs administration, ongoing reforms, challenges, and potential areas for development. The discussion also covered various aspects of border procedure management. By government decision, Armenia will introduce a new biometric system in 2026, issuing updated passports and identification cards to citizens. ![]() ![]() Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”.
