He claimed that the weapons supplied to Armenia were directed against Azerbaijan, according to Minval.az . "Perhaps these weapons are needed elsewhere, but they are being sent to Armenia," Aliyev stated. Speaking about the observers stationed in Armenia, Aliyev asserted that they "stand at the border day and night, acting as spies, searching for loopholes to infiltrate." "We also have sufficient intelligence data on such a selective monitoring mission," he added. Aliyev further claimed that Armenia now has a new "big brother" sitting in Brussels. He also accused the Armenian diaspora and foreign politicians supporting Armenians of interference. At the same time, Aliyev emphasized the need for peace in the South Caucasus, stating that negotiations on a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia were ongoing and that most points had been agreed upon. Earlier, Aliyev stated that Yerevan and Baku had not yet agreed on two key points in the future peace treaty: dropping lawsuits against each other in international courts and preventing third-party forces from being stationed at the border. He also said that Armenia must meet two additional conditions before signing the treaty: amending its Constitution and agreeing to the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group. ![]() ![]() The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington.
