Georgian customs denies delays in Armenian brandy exports

PanARMENIAN.Net - In response to complaints from Armenian brandy producers, Georgia’s Revenue Service stated that customs control procedures at border checkpoints are proceeding as usual. The agency responded to an inquiry from BM.GE .

“The customs control procedures are carried out in standard mode. There are no delays related to transport vehicles,” the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance reported.

On May 13, representatives of several Armenian wine and brandy exporting companies gathered outside the Georgian Embassy in Yerevan, demanding an end to what they described as unjustified delays faced by Armenian exporters at the border.

Following the protest, Armenian media outlets contacted the Ministry of Economy, which stated that Armenia is seeking ways to resolve the issue of alcohol exports and is engaged in negotiations with the Georgian side. The head of the Ministry of Economy did not rule out a visit to Georgia in the near future to address this matter.
