Madrid to helps Yerevan improve air quality![]() June 4, 2025 - 11:28 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan, currently in the Spanish capital, has met with Isabel Díaz Ayuso, President of the Community of Madrid. A key focus of their discussion was Madrid’s successful experience in improving air quality. According to the Yerevan Municipality, both sides agreed to explore and implement these effective solutions in the Armenian capital. They also reviewed possible areas of collaboration between Yerevan and the Community of Madrid, outlining sectors of mutual interest. According to data from March 2025 gathered by 173 air monitoring stations at construction sites in Yerevan, the average Air Quality Index (AQI) values were 91 for PM2.5 and 37 for PM10. These figures fall within the "good" to "moderate" pollution range. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
