Tavush leads Armenia in housing permits, says governor

PanARMENIAN.Net - Tavush Governor Hayk Ghalumyan announced that following the border demarcation and delimitation process, 55 construction permits have been issued in Kirants village as part of the housing program. He shared this during the National Assembly discussion on the 2024 state budget execution report.

“We know that after the demarcation-delimitation process, specific privileges were granted to four villages—Kirants, Voskepar, Baghanis, and Berkaber. If I’m not mistaken, Kirants and Berkaber were each allowed 40 homes, and Baghanis and Voskepar 50 each. As of today, my information is that Kirants has received 55 permits in total, including 40 original and 15 additional ones,” Ghalumyan said, as reported by Aravot.am .

He noted that, with the support of the 16-million-dram housing program, a total of 1,373 construction permits have been issued in Tavush, the highest number nationwide.

Ghalumyan added that he has already appealed to the government, proposing to relaunch the program with certain limitations to allow its continuation. He reminded that the initiative had been suspended in several Armenian border communities due to an overwhelming number of applications.

The office of Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan previously responded to a media report on border demarcation, calling it “completely false,” and emphasized that all demarcation-related issues are addressed solely within the framework of intergovernmental commissions.

“The article published by Hraparak on June 10, titled ‘Hajiyev and Grigoryan have already drawn the border; 180 sq.km to be handed over to the enemy,’ contains information that is entirely false and does not reflect reality,” the statement read.
