Armenia to donate $1 mln to Asian Development Fund![]() June 12, 2025 - 17:11 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - In 2025, Armenia will act as a donor in the 13th regular replenishment of the Asian Development Fund (ADF) and the 8th replenishment of its Special Technical Assistance Fund. For this, Armenia will contribute $1 million to the ADF this year, following a decision approved by the government. According to Sputnik Armenia, the ADF—founded in 1974—has completed 12 replenishments with the participation of 36 partners to date. “As part of broader financing sources, the fund has provided over $85 billion in concessional loans and grants to 36 developing member countries throughout its existence,” states the government decision. The total donor contributions during the 13th replenishment are expected to reach $4.9 billion. Of this, $2.5 billion is expected to come from new donors, while the remaining $2.4 billion will be mobilized from other fund sources. “Armenia’s continued participation in ADF resource replenishment as a donor will be viewed as a step toward strengthening effective cooperation with the Asian Development Bank. If desired, Armenia may contribute through the issuance of a simple, interest-free, on-demand promissory note,” the statement reads. The Asian Development Fund is the concessional financing arm of the Asian Development Bank, offering low-interest loans to its poorest member countries. During the 2021–2024 12th replenishment round, five countries, including Azerbaijan, which previously received support, became donors. Armenia now joins as a contributor for the 2025–2028 13th replenishment round. ![]() ![]() Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”.
