Strong winds damage over 140 properties in Aparan![]() June 17, 2025 - 18:26 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Over 140 properties in Aparan were damaged by strong winds on June 15, with 205 rescuers deployed to aid in recovery and technical operations. On June 16, personnel from the Rescue Service of Armenia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs continued recovery efforts following a severe windstorm that struck the Aparan region the previous day. According to data from the Aparan municipality, the storm damaged around 140 residential homes and garages, 20 shops, the roofs of 20 apartment buildings and 17 different organizations, 34 cars, about 200 trees, 60 power poles, 50 streetlight poles, and 15 solar power units. A total of 205 rescuers were involved in the restoration and technical operations, working intensively in both the town of Aparan and the village of Lusagyugh. Rescuers dismantled and removed metal sheets and structural elements posing danger from rooftops and cleared fallen trees. Damaged power poles were dismantled in cooperation with electric grid specialists. Full-scale restoration efforts were conducted to eliminate the consequences of the natural disaster and to restore normal life for the affected population. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
