Macron reaffirms support for Armenia's democratic stability

PanARMENIAN.Net - French President Emmanuel Macron expressed solidarity with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a phone call, addressing attempts "to destabilize Armenia's democracy." Macron shared this on X.

"I had a good phone conversation with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia. I expressed France’s solidarity in the face of attempts to destabilize Armenian democracy.

I also reiterated our support for his courageous efforts to establish peace with Azerbaijan and normalize relations with Turkey. Peace and open borders would represent significant progress for the whole region and serve as an example for others," the statement read.

According to the Prime Minister’s press office, Macron and Pashinyan also discussed bilateral relations between Armenia and France, as well as key regional and international issues.

The head of the Armenian government thanked the French leader for his personal involvement in strengthening Armenian-French ties.

The two leaders agreed to deepen cooperation in several key areas.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also posted about the conversation with Macron on X, noting that the discussion covered bilateral cooperation, regional developments, and major issues on the international agenda, including strategic pathways to peace.

"I thanked him for his personal contribution to strengthening our ties," Pashinyan wrote.
