EU, Armenia explore expanded monitoring partnership![]() October 21, 2025 - 18:27 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On October 21, Armenia’s Secretary of the Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, met with Markus Ritter, head of the European Union’s Civilian Monitoring Mission in Armenia. The two discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation and explored future opportunities and prospects for collaboration. Grigoryan highly praised the mission’s work, emphasizing its importance in enhancing Armenia’s security and stability. Markus Ritter, in turn, expressed his gratitude to the Armenian side for its warm welcome and constructive partnership with the mission. The EU Mission in Armenia (EUMA) has been extended for another two years, until February 19, 2027. The allocated budget for the period from February 20, 2025, to February 19, 2027, exceeds 44 million euros. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
