Armenia, Iraq explore boosting tourism ties

Lusine Gevorgyan, Chair of Armenia’s Tourism Committee, held a meeting with Muhammad Al-Sheikhli, Chargé d’Affaires of Iraq’s Embassy in Armenia, to discuss ways to enhance tourism ties between Armenia and Iraq, according to the Tourism Committee.

During the meeting, current tourism programs were presented, and several key directions for cooperation were discussed.

Particular focus was placed on the procedures and timeline for signing a memorandum of understanding between the two countries in the fields of culture and tourism. The need to increase awareness of both nations’ tourism potential and marketing initiatives was also emphasized.

Both sides highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation between tourism organizations, including through virtual meetings involving both public and private sectors, and by promoting mutual representation of Armenia and Iraq.

The discussion also covered possibilities for expanding future cooperation in the tourism sector.

Both parties underscored the need to deepen collaboration and intensify tourism exchanges between the two countries.
