His legal team confirmed that he is now undergoing tests, according to 1lurer.am . Earlier reports indicated that Archbishop Mikael’s health had deteriorated, and his defense attorneys had raised concerns about the need for surgery. Archbishop Mikael Ajapahyan was sentenced to two years in prison. He faces prosecution under Article 422, Part 2 of Armenia’s Criminal Code for publicly calling for the overthrow of the constitutional order, violation of territorial integrity, rejection of sovereignty, or seizure of power. He has been in custody since June 28. Archbishop Ajapahyan denies the charges against him. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
