Soviet-era depositors  born before 1944 eligible for payout

PanARMENIAN.Net - Citizens born before December 31, 1944, are eligible for compensation for deposits made in the Armenian branch of the USSR Savings Bank before June 10, 1993, according to Armenia’s Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.

The compensation will be provided strictly through non-cash means.

The ministry reminds the public that in order to receive compensation, depositors, or their legal or authorized representatives, must apply to the Unified Social Service center corresponding to their place of registration.

Applicants must submit the following documents:

  • An identification document or national ID card
  • Public Services Number (PSN), social security card, or a certificate stating the absence of a PSN
  • Savings passbook (if available)
  • A certificate from VTB-Armenia CJSC showing the account balance as of June 10, 1993
  • Other relevant documents, if required

This initiative aims to restore public trust in savings and reinforce the principle of social justice.
