On January 29, Armenia’s Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan met with Bulgarian Ambassador to Armenia Nikola Nikolov to discuss prospects for developing Armenian-Bulgarian economic ties and increasing mutual trade volumes.
“Armenia continues to deepen cooperation with the European Union in political, economic, and security sectors, and prioritizes expanding relations with EU member states. In this context, we highly value Bulgaria’s experience in European integration and are ready to broaden practical economic cooperation both bilaterally and within international frameworks,” Papoyan stated.
He presented Armenia’s key economic development priorities, emphasizing the need to diversify export markets, improve the quality of local products, and align them with EU standards.
Papoyan also introduced the Crossroads of Peace and TRIPP regional initiatives, highlighting their potential to foster economic cooperation and promote lasting regional peace.
Earlier, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio signed a joint declaration in Washington under the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) initiative.
The TRIPP framework outlines implementation procedures for the initiative and does not create legal commitments or obligations for Armenia or the U.S.
