He made the comment in response to a question about why imports are currently flowing only from Azerbaijan to Armenia. Tunyan said that trade is not directly conducted with Azerbaijan, but with other countries using Azerbaijan as a transit route. Previously, such transit was not possible, but now the opportunity exists, according to a report by Auroranews.am . He added that Armenian exports may start soon, depending on market demand. Potential export items include metallic and foil-based products, as well as certain types of foodstuffs. Tunyan said that the government does not dictate which goods should be imported or exported. These decisions are driven by business demand and mutual interest. He further noted that when a competitive price-quality offer exists on the market, businesses independently decide whether to purchase or sell the product.
