Armenia bans war propaganda on TV, radio![]() April 16, 2026 - 18:48 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The National Assembly of Armenia has adopted in the second and final reading legislative amendments banning war propaganda on television and radio, reports Sputnik Armenia. Earlier, the government approved changes and additions to the law “On Audiovisual Media,” which provide for restrictions on the dissemination by foreign television and radio programs of content that interferes in the internal political life of Armenia. The amendments introduce a ban on content aimed at violently overthrowing the constitutional order, promoting war, or spreading violence and cruelty. They also stipulate that foreign media content interfering in Armenia’s domestic political affairs will be prohibited by law. Additionally, the changes clarify the legal grounds, criteria, and mechanisms for suspending or terminating licenses of network operators. Requirements governing the activities of audiovisual program distributors have also been revised and updated. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
