MEP praises cross-party support for Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Slovak Member of the European Parliament and standing rapporteur on Armenia Miriam Lexmann welcomed the recently adopted resolution on Armenia.

“Ahead of the European Political Community summit, I am deeply grateful for the strong cross-party resolution adopted today in the European Parliament in support of democratic resilience in Armenia,” Lexmann wrote on X, according to 1lurer.am .

Earlier, the European Parliament adopted the resolution with 476 votes in favor, 47 against, and 48 abstentions, reaffirming the European Union’s support for Armenia’s democratic resilience, peace process, and reforms aimed at European integration.

The document supports the holding of free, fair, and peaceful parliamentary elections in Armenia in June 2026, stressing that only the Armenian people should determine the outcome of the vote. It also highlights the need to combat disinformation, illegal financing, and vote-buying.
