INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON REGIONAL SECURITY ISSUES BEGAN IN YEREVAN

PanARMENIAN.Net - Today in Yerevan the international conference «Peace, stability and confidence atmosphere creation in the South Caucasus: the role of international and regional security organizations» has started its work. As «Arminfo» agency reports the organizers of the conference are Yerevan Institute of Civil Society and Regional Development with the financial support of the NATO press and information department, Ebert Fund and the Open Society Institute Armenian branch. The conference participants have discussed the issues of the creations of the regional security system in the region of the South Caucasus, issues regarding separatism and terrorism in the Caucasus, creation of new atmosphere of security and the role of «the third sides». The chairman of the National Security Council of the Great Britain Garry Johnson, Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy, the Great Britain and Iran to Armenia Paolo Trabaltza, Timothy Johns and Mohamma Farhad Koleyni, officials of a number of nongovernmental organizations participate in the conference.
