Baku considers itself the main arbiter in RA-related issues, when, in truth, it has no pertaining to them, MGIMO Caucasus Research Center Deputy Director Vladimir Zakharov told PanARMENIAN. "We're currently negotiating RA-Turkish relations, not RA-Azeri or Azeri-Turkish ones, so Azerbaijan mustn't interfere with the process," Zakharov said. He also characterized Azerbaijan's protest against RA -Turkish rapprochement as natural. Azerbaijan will only gain form Armenia's complete isolation, Zakharov said. "Opening of RA-Turkish border is vital to Armenia, which can't be forever isolated," Zakharov noted adding that both Armenia and Turkey will benefit from opening. "Azerbaijan will always be opposed to rapprochement, never altering its position on NKR issue," Vladimir Zakharov stated, emphasizing it's NKR people who're to come to final solution on Karabakh status.
