ARMENIAN DELEGATION TO LEAVE FOR STRASBOURG TOMORROW TO PARTICIPATE IN PACE SESSION

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian National Assembly delegation will leave for Strasbourg tomorrow to participate in winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to be opened January 21. The Armenian delegation intends to organize a state reception for PACE deputies and staff due to the one-year anniversary of entry of Armenia into the Council of Europe. Elections of Chairman and Deputy Chairmen of PACE, Chairmen of commissions will be held in the course of the winter session work, as well as formation of a new staff of the Bureau of commissions. The situation in Cyprus and Chechnya, the condition of drug business in CE member states, the role of the World Trade Organization, the process of fulfillment of its obligations by Ukraine as well as the question of political prisoners in Azerbaijan are planned to be discussed. Acting Chairman of CE Committee of Ministers, Foreign Minister of Lithuania Antanas Valionis will answer the inquiry made at the previous session by the Armenian delegation head Hovhannes Hovhannisian concerning the blockade of Armenia held by Turkey.
