Viktor Yanukovych is announced President of Ukraine

PanARMENIAN.Net -
Ukraine’s Central Election Commission announced Viktor Yanukovych as the winner of the February 7 presidential election. The commission said Mr. Yanukovich had prevailed over his opponent Yulia Tymoshenko by 3.48 percentage points, or 887 909 votes. Ms. Tymoshenko, who garnered 45.47 percent of the vote, said she will not concede and asserted that Mr. Yanukovich’s campaign had used extensive fraud to steal the election. She pledged to overturn it through legal means, and not organize street protests, saying she did not want to cause more political instability.

Meanwhile, European election monitors have described the voting as honest and fair.
