Deputy Prime Ministers of Armenia and Qatar discuss cooperation opportunitiesJune 1, 2010 - 15:58 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan arrived on a working visit to the State of Qatar, where he met with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Energy and Industry of the State of Qatar Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah. During the meeting, the parties attached importance to boosting cooperation and expressed readiness to carry out activities in that direction, the press service of the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration reported. According to Gevorgyan, there are cooperation opportunities in the fields of energy and tourism. He noted that Armenia envisages implementing a range of large-scale programs: construction of a new nuclear power block, North-South highway, as well as Iran –Armenia railroad, and it is ready to cooperate in any field. In his turn, Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah noted that Qatar is interested in boosting cooperation with Armenia through participation in projects of regional significance. Besides, the Deputy Prime Minister of the State of Qatar accepted the invitation to visit Armenia. Armen Gevorgyan participated in Free Trade, Development and Democracy international forum in Doha, which was opened by Emir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani. The forum brought together Presidents of Finland and Macedonia, as well as high-ranking officials of a range of countries.
