Davit Shahnazaryan: I do not think Clinton’s visit can help normalization of relations with Turkey

The agenda of U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s visit to Armenia will include discussion on Armenian-Turkish relations and Nagorno Karabakh as well as the situation with human rights and democracy in the republic, said Davit Shahnazaryan, member of the Armenian National Congress.

“I do not think that this visit can help normalization of relations with Turkey, as the latter has already earned its benefits from the process,” he told a news conference in Yerevan on July 1.

“As to Karabakh talks, there will be no progress in the near future but they can develop to the detriment of the Armenian side. Breakthrough is possible only if the conflicting sides or superpowers reach an agreement, what is unreal under the circumstances,” he said.
