Belgium takes action to stop Armenian migrant flows

PanARMENIAN.Net - Belgium takes action to stop Armenian migrant flows, said a representative of the Belgian Ministry of Interior.

The Belgian government decided on accelerated consideration of asylum applications. Although majority of Armenian migrants are not granted a refugee status, the flow of Armenian citizens doesn’t thin out.

In 2009, only 1 per cent of applications were satisfied. In 2010, only 0.2 per cent of the applications were approved.

Armenia tops the list of countries whose citizens seek asylum in Belgium. However, rating Armenia as politically stable country, the Belgian government doesn't think it's advisable to grant refugee status to Armenians.
