Creation of free trade zone will secure Armenia's integration into European marketJuly 19, 2010 - 16:50 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Gunnar Wiegand, European Commission’s Director for Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia said that signing of the agreement on a free trade zone between Armenia and EU will allow securing Armenia's deeper and comprehensive economic integration into the European market. “Creation of a free trade zone with Armenia envisages that the republic should bring its economic standards in compliance with the European market's criteria,” Wiegand told a press conference in Yerevan. “The negotiations on creation of a free trade zone make a part of negotiations on Association Agreement between Armenia and EU. We cooperate with the RA Ministry of Economy and expect Armenia to take action to that end,” he said.
