Head of National Congress of Armenians of Ukraine met with Ukrainian President![]() ![]() PanARMENIAN.Net - Head of the Council of All-Ukrainian NGOs of Ukrainian National Minorities, President of the National Congress of Armenians of Ukraine, Honored Art Worker of Ukraine, Ashot Avanesyan, participated in a solemn reception on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of Ukraine's independence. Avanesyan congratulated compatriots on Ukraine's Independence Day. “Today’s holiday symbolizes the victory of the Ukrainian people in the struggle for the right to live in own state and be master of its destiny. Ukraine is a multinational country. Representatives of 134 nationalities live here, and this is our common house,” said Ashot Avanesyan. Ukrainian House national center of business and cultural cooperation hosted the solemn reception with participation of the Ukrainian President, parliament members, diplomats, as well as representatives of state bodies, local self-government bodies, political parties, etc. Ashot Avanesyan met with Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych on the sidelines of the event to discuss issues concerning cultures and histories of national minorities of Ukraine.
