Chairman of SCPEC is unaware of flour prices in Armenia’s storesSeptember 6, 2010 - 18:45 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Chairman of the Armenian State Commission for the Protection of Economic Cooperation (SCPEC) Artak Shaboyan said that flour prices are rather low in Armenia as compared with those at global markets. Moreover, according to him, 20% drop was recorded in grain prices in August. And the retail price of high-grade flour makes around AMD 200/1kg in Armenia’s stores today, Shaboyan told a briefing on August 6. A PanARMENIAN.Net reporter conducted own monitoring of retail stores of Yerevan to clarify the situation. According to its results, the price for high-grade flour varies from AMD 270 to 450. Besides, the price for buckwheat has doubled, increasing from AMD 400 to 800 per kilogram. Commenting on this, the SCPEC reported that it has launched monitoring of import and sales markets of buckwheat. The Commission should hurry with the situation clarification and provide information that is more accurate.
