Georgia simplifies procedure for tourists' customs inspectionSeptember 13, 2010 - 14:35 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs Vano Merabishvili said in Batumi that the procedure of border crossing at the Georgian check-points will be more simplified for tourists, while the relevant procedure will take only 3-4minutes. According to the Minister, the simplifications will refer to control procedures in case of entries from countries neighboring with Georgia. Cars basically enter the country from Armenia and Azerbaijan. Vano Merabishvili said that customs representatives will be checking only freight vehicles, while police will be dealing with the rest. According to him, a similar procedure will be introduced for visitors at customs office in Sarpi (border with Turkey).
