Armenian teachers dismissed in Javakhk

PanARMENIAN.Net - Javakhk is having hard times, specifically in education field, Virk party chairman said.

“I read the curriculum of Armenian schools several days ago to see that the Georgian authorities failed to keep their promise not to increase the number of Georgian language lessons at expense of the native tongue,” David Rstakyan told reporters on September 17.

For his part, head of Javakhk compatriots’ union Shirak Torosyan said the above mentioned changes are meant to oust the Armenian population from Javakheti.

“Armenian language and history teachers were dismissed without explanation,” he said.

Asked by a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter whether the teachers are going to take any action, Torosyan said “it makes no sense, as the order was received from the government.”
