So, Iran or Russia will hardly resort to Yerevan’s assistance,” Sevak Sarukhanyan, deputy head of Noravank center, told reporters on September 27. Asked whether the sale of S-300 missiles to Azerbaijan might be aimed against Iran, he said the missiles can’t alter the military balance in the region. “Iran will always be the dominating force in the region,” Sarukhanyan said, adding that Iran is an unreliable ally for Armenia. He also noted that Tehran doesn’t interfere in Karabakh talks, since any meddling in the process conflicts with the country’s principles.
