Moscow stands for peace in region, but sells 9 2S7 Pion self-propelled guns to Baku

PanARMENIAN.Net - In 2009, Azerbaijan bought nine self-propelled guns – 2S7 Pion – from Russia in 2009. According to Russian state arms exporter Rosoboronexport, the guns were delivered to Azerbaijan in March-December 2009, as per the signed agreement. In 2008, Russia sold three Pion guns to Azerbaijan, APA reported.

2S7 Pion or Malka (2S7 is its GRAU designation) is a Soviet self-propelled gun.

Pion has been the most powerful conventional artillery piece since its introduction.
