Ecologists against uranium mine exploration in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Chairperson of the Association for Sustainable Development of Humanity NGO Karine Danielyan said that there is can’t be “a golden middle” regarding the uranium mine exploration in Syunik province of Armenia.

“Exploration in a seismic zone is highly risky,” she said. “Moreover, it’s not economically beneficial, as the toxic waste will prevent development of agriculture and tourism.”
