35 Braille Boards set in Armenia as of 2010

PanARMENIAN.Net - On November 19, Yerevan’s house of culture hosted a presentation of 5-language Braille Boards.

14 boards were manufactured in 2009 within the framework of Armenian Monuments Awareness Project (AMAP); in 2010 their number reached 21.

As AMAP program director Richard Ney stated, “No other country but Armenia has 35 Braille Boards. Unfortunately, we were unable to manufacture them locally, so we had to import the boards from Italy.”

AMAP programs were implemented with the assistance of VivaCell-MTS. Current action aims at increasing cultural awareness among visually challenged people.
