Armenian-Georgian border crossing to be simplified soon

PanARMENIAN.Net - On January 22, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with his Georgian counterpart Mikheil Saakashvili who is on a working visit to Armenia.

The meeting was followed by a discussion with participation of the two countries official delegations.

The Armenian-Georgian cooperation in various fields was in the focus of the meeting, the RA presidential press service reported.

According to preliminary data, 11% growth was recorded in the trade turnover between the two countries in 2010. The Presidents pointed to collaboration in the humanitarian field, including organization of the first Olympiad among Armenian and Georgian school students.

The parties discussed simplification of the Armenian-Georgian border crossing in the near future.

The two Presidents stressed the importance of active work on elimination of bureaucratic barriers, which are artificially created on the way to economic cooperation development.

Sargsyan and Saakashvili referred to regional and international matters, which present mutual interest.
