As Shahen Karamanukyan noted during a discussion on social and political processes in Egypt, it’s hard to forecast the development of events in the country; however, the situation can be characterized as revolutionary. Still, Karamanukyan said, Egypt will never be the same, as the model of controlled democracy practiced since 1952 has exhausted itself.
