Venice to host exhibits timed to 500th anniversary of first Armenian book publicationMarch 2, 2011 - 17:44 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On February 28, Armenian Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan and the head of the city museums of Venice signed an agreement on organization of exhibitions. The exhibitions will be organized in the most famous museums of San Marco square. The exhibits are timed to 500th anniversary of the publication of the first Armenian book in Venice. The event will be held under the aegis of the Presidents of Armenia and Italy. On March 1, the Armenian delegation met Venice Mayor Giorgio Orsoni. Cooperation within the framework of the events planned was discussed. The Minister of Culture invited Venice Mayor to visit Yerevan, offering to initiate negotiations on announcing Yerevan and Venice twin cities, Armenian Culture Ministry press service reported.
