NKR leader emphasizes role of AAC in national identity preservationMarch 7, 2011 - 13:22 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On March 6, President of the Artsakh Republic Bako Sahakyan arrived in Paris on a working visit. The NKR leader visited St. John the Baptist cathedral and partook in the sacred ceremony held there. Afterwards, the President met primate of the French Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archbishop Norvan Zakaryan. Issues related to relations with Diaspora as well as domestic and foreign policy of Artsakh were discussed during the meeting. Sahakyan praised the role of the Armenian Apostolic Church in maintaining national identity in Diaspora. After the meeting the President laid wreath on the monument of Komitas located in the center of Paris. On the same day, the President met members of the Support to Karabakh Union board and discussed issues related to the cooperation with the organization. The President emphasized the importance of the active participation of different Diaspora organizations in developing Artsakh within the context of strengthening the inter-Armenian ties.
