NKR PRESIDENT: AZERBAIJAN HAS LAID MAXIMUM CLAIMS

PanARMENIAN.Net - YEREVAN, March 22. /Mediamax/. President of Nagorno Karabakh Republic (NKR) Arkady Ghukasian said the unification of NKR with Armenia is an alternative to the independence of Karabakh.

A. Ghukasian stated this, replying to "Hot Line" questions of "Golos Armenii" paper. Commenting upon the possibility of toughening of Azerbaijan's negotiation position, Ghukasian said: "One can hardly imagine a more tough position of Baku, as until recent Azerbaijan has laid maximum claims".

If the unification of Nagorno Karabakh with Armenia becomes the subject of Kocharian-Aliyev talks, "then NKR is ready to support this dialogue in the future as well", Ghukasian said. And if Aliyev rejects this, the next stage of negotiation process will be held in Azerbaijan-NKR format, "maybe, with Armenia's participation", President of NKR said. --0--
