RPA member urges Hovannisian to use parliament’s rostrum instead of hunger strikeMarch 28, 2011 - 14:00 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia parliamentary group Karine Achemyan offered leader of Heritage party Raffi Hovannisian to use the parliament’s rostrum instead of hunger strike in his political struggle. Achemyan said Heritage has the opportunity to present its stance in the parliament, where the party actively worked, while “hunger strike is a radical action for radical cases.” According to Achemyn, one should not think that President Serzh Sargsyan can solely solve all problems in the country. There are serious problems also in the society, which cannot be solved within a day, she said. Meanwhile, member of Heritage parliamentary group Anahit Bakhshyan considers Raffi Hovannisian’s action to be justified, since Armenia faces a critical situation. Bakhshyan added that despite the active work of Heritage party in the parliament, what is recognized also by the ruling coalition, only one bill offered by the party was adopted in the parliament within three years – the bill on parliament members’ assistants.
