Iran, Armenia can become regional energy operatorsMarch 28, 2011 - 15:48 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Minister of Energy Armen Movsisyan said that energy covers 80 per cent of bilateral projects implemented by Armenia and Iran, being estimated at USD 450mln. Movsisyan told ISNA news agency that as part of economic cooperation between the two countries, the third power transmission line is envisaged to be constructed to connect Iran and Armenia. Besides, construction of a hydropower plant will be launched soon on Arax River. Movsisyan said that the cooperation between Iran and Armenia may be further boosted, taking into consideration their outlooks for it. The two countries may play an important role in the establishment and operation of North-South international transport corridor as well, Iran News quoted Movsisyan as saying.
