Number of gas consumers in Armenia exceeds 600 000April 4, 2011 - 15:51 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Currently, there are over 600 000 gas consumers in Armenia, which is 8 times more than in 1999, said the head of Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC). As Robert Nazaryan told a news conference in Yerevan, AMD 66 billion worth investments were made to the gas supply sector over the last 12 years. The head of PSRC explained the recent growth for gas prices by a number of factors, including the 17% upsurge of imported gas price, currency fluctuations, increase of expenditures aimed at development of gas supply system. Still, Nazaryan noted, use of gas is twice as advantageous in Armenia compared to electricity consumption.
