Armenian delegation to PACE reacted adequately to Turkish-Azerbaijani tandemApril 15, 2011 - 14:31 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Secretary of Prosperous Armenia parliamentary group Aram Safaryan said that the Armenian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) gave an adequate response to the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem. The closer parties are to the Karabakh conflict settlement, the more Turkey and Azerbaijan try to exert pressure on Armenia, Aram Safaryan told a briefing in the Armenian parliament, commenting on recent incident between members of the Armenian delegation and Turkish Prime Minister in PACE. “Taking this into consideration, we should take actions to oppose to the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem,” said Safaryan. New impediments were created in the activities of the Armenian delegation to the PACE. During a Q&A session with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, PACE President Mevlut Cavusoglu deprived the Armenian delegation members of the opportunity to address their questions to Erdogan. Despite artificial impediments, Armenian parliament member Naira Zohrabyan managed to approach the Turkish Prime Minister and hand him an album containing photographs of children – victims of the Armenian Genocide. Erdogan glanced at the album and stated that if the Armenian side continues to insist on its position, Turkey will also find some photos to show. Further, Turkish Prime Minister's bodyguards accompanied Erdogan out of the hall, shoving Armenian delegation members aside.
