Unification of parties is not solved in street and “on foot”, Heritage representative saidApril 19, 2011 - 16:01 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Head of Heritage parliamentary group Stepan Safaryan labeled reports of some media concerning union of the party and the Armenian National Congress (ANC) as “delirium.” Reportedly, the decision on making a union was reached during a meeting of ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrossian and Heritage leader Raffi Hovannisian at Komitas pantheon with respect to the 79th birth anniversary of Karen Demirchyan. “Matters of parties’ unification are not solved in the street and “on foot,” without preliminary reconciliation,” Safaryan told a press conference in Yerevan. Safaryan said he is unaware of what was discussed by Hovannisian and Ter-Petrossian, but noted that the leader of Heritage would have informed his party fellows about the conversation essence, if it referred to political matters. Safaryan noted that there was need in such a conversation, specifically, taking into consideration the situation established recently. ANC and Heritage representatives had met also before that, and it is important that ANC and Heritage do not cause damage to each other, even if they fail in taking joint actions, concluded Safaryan.
