As deputy director of Noravank Foundation Sevak Sarukhanyan stated at a Yerevan-hosted discussion on atomic energetics, energy production in Armenia is increasing, with a possibility of reaching 4000 megawatt (current production capacity 2200 megawatt). The exert forecasted the maximum of 2000 megawatt energy consumption on 2025 in Armenia, further noting that to improve its financial perspectives Armenia might need to consider energy export to neighboring countries in case of normalization of ties. As the expert noted, because of economy growth and slump in coalmining, Turkey will have to compensate the lack of its energy needs through energy import.
