Heritage still discusses election formatMay 6, 2011 - 15:09 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Head of the opposition Heritage parliamentary group Stepan Safaryan said that Heritage party has not decided on the format of its participation in the upcoming parliamentary election. It is too soon to speak about participation in the election, but active discussions and consultations inside the party and with all interested persons and forces of Armenia are under way, Safaryan told a press conference in Yerevan. According to him, the discussions are aimed at defining the ways for further struggle to establish democracy in the country. Safaryan noted that Heritage has always been open to cooperation in the political field and interested in its new quality and formula. He believes that neither Heritage, nor any other opposition party is able to solely represent the entire opposition spectrum, which makes majority of the Armenian society. Commenting on some experts’ statements that Heritage is unlikely to join the next parliament, Safaryan noted that the same people were pessimistic with respect to the party’s chances during the 2007 parliamentary election. “We always take into consideration these manipulations with figures, but our further decisions and actions are not based on them,” Safaryan said regarding the data provided by some public polls.
